Reflective Journal

Hello, my name is Jesse Nyarko and this is my reflective Journal. Im going to talk about my About Me video production process, review my poster, explain why i took certain decisions and discuss my strenghs and weaknesses and of the video.

Im going to start with my video. I started with a family introduction as my family is everything to me thats why i thought it was very important to include. From there I went to my hobbies. I had to decide between football, basketball and boxing. I chose football because it is my favourite of the three and it plays the biggest role in sports of my life. Next i went to fitness. I like improving on myself in all aspects so i think working on your body is very important. That is why I decided to sign up for a gym membership two years ago.  I also shared clips of having fun with friends. Having people you can understand is very important. People that you can laugh with and cry with so it is also very important to me and thats why i included it. I ended my video with my talent/hobby which is music. I grew up with music playing the piano and played it for more than 8 years now. Without music i wouldn’t be myself so it was a must to bring up. As it is a talent it is also a hobby as i spend hours every day listening to my favourite music and i also go to concerts when my favourite artists come to my city. I ended the video with myself playing the piano at my school concert.

I recorded my first about me video in portrait. As I’m new to London, i didn’t have clips of myself practicing my hobbies so i imported clips from my snapchat and put it on the video. I wasn’t too thrilled about my decision but it had to be done. I edited the video and recorded some clips in landscape format and put it together with my old one which is now uploaded on my wordpress. The positive aspect of my video is that the narrative was clear. I think everyone that would watch the video would definitely learn something about me and know me better.

My poster is very simple and clear. The title is bold and in the middle and surrounding it are three hobbies i chose that relate to me. The background is white so the poster can look more clean.
